A Saturday Afternoon Drive...

Our friends, Jen, Chris, Samantha and Jackson came to visit. Charlie and Samantha had a great time hanging out on the swing set and going for a drive in Charlie's 4 wheeler. You might even say Charlie was a wee bit smitten with Samantha...

Here they are off for their adventure, Charlie at the wheel and Samantha riding along.

They took a brief stop to use the "fire" sprayer and spray the stream by our house..

Charlie even let Samantha drive his 4 wheeler, but you can see he's not so sure about her new driving skills and the direction of heading into the trees.
"Uh, WHOA SAM!!! The road's over there!" - Charlie
"Oh Charlie, I'll get us back on track" - Sam
"um, Sam, the road is over there!!!"
"Ahh, there's the adult supervision. Thank goodness, we're back on track."

somedays we just need a laugh

Well, supposedly when this video gets 1 million hits, the hospital will be donating $$$ to breast cancer research. I hope so, but it is really cute if you just want a laugh.

Here’s the story behind the video…

“Our daughter-in-law, Emily (MacInnes) Somers, created, directed and choreographed this in Portland last week for her Medline glove division as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness.

I don't know how she got so many employees, doctors and patients to participate, but it started to really catch on and they all had a lot of fun doing it.

When the video gets 1 million hits, Medline will be making a huge contribution to the hospital, as well as offering free mammograms for the community. Please check it out. It's an easy and great way to donate to a wonderful cause, and who hasn't been
touched by breast cancer?

Ann Somers”

Irish Festival

What an awesome morning, something about bag pipes and fresh air. We made a new purchase and I think the best investment we've made in a while, a new camera! Just a few test shots...

Life couldn't be any finer than 2 snow cones on a park bench, Charlie and his cousin Thor

Countdown to the next wedding!

We had an awesome weekend, with a little party for Joe and Elizabeth to celebrate the impending nuptials! It was a lot of fun to have some of the family here and visit. It also marks the end to our (immediate) honey-do list. It was good to have a goal date in mind to get some of the projects around the house done. I can officially say that we have our pictures hung and walls painted. Old nail holes are pretty much patched and it's like it is truly our home!

It is hard to believe that Liz and Joe are getting married in just 2 1/2 months. It will be here before we know it!

Here are a few pics of favorite activities. Eating and climbing:
Matt making his 1st attempt at a spoon (yesterday).
Will thinking that a spoon is absolutely hilarious when you could use your hands!!!
Matt now climbing into the train table drawer. Fun. Fun. Fun.

A good idea? maybe not

Last Saturday we had a little bit of time to kill before heading to a birthday party. We thought the weather was so nice, we should take the kids out and also let Matt & Will burn some energy instead of pushing them in the stroller.

So, why not take our vehicles that we love to run around the indoor race track outside?

Well low and behold, we didn't know you needed helmets when you rode those things. But our adventuresome child Matt took off down the street. He made it from one to the other in probably 5 min. no joke. Will thought it was a good idea too... until he did a forward tumble over his steering column. At least he had a hat on to protect his forehead?

Charlie was enjoying his 'new' hand me down from our fabulous painter/fixer upper/anything goes Miguel.
There goes Matt!

Who thought this was a good idea? - Will

This is the best day ever!!! Fresh air AND wheels! FREEDOM - Matt

Why we have baby gates

or would you call them crazy climbing children gates?
I had a great idea that I would clean up the train table and all that stuff underneath and that gets tossed over the side of the "gate" that is usually around it. Well, it looked so nice without the gate, I just left it put up. My mistake. The critters immediately took to the table, pulling everything out of the drawer, climbing onto the table and considered climbing the blinds...
Oh well, back goes the gate. It is hard to believe you forget these stage when it passes by.

Matt

Who me? Did I do something to get in trouble?

But this is SOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN!!!!
