22 Weeks (+1 D)

Pregnancy is progressing well. I had a check-up today and heard both boy's heartbeats. Everything is going well with the boys and me at this point too...
I suppose Jon and I have been in "prep mode" hear recently. We decided to sign up for classes early this time since we missed 2 classes with Charlie when he came 4 weeks early. Last week we had Infant CPR (2 breaths, 30 compressions) and last night we had "Expecting Multiples." All good reinforcers. Last night, the instructor tried to prep us for 128 diapers a week and 30 bottles a day! Not sure that you can fully prepare for that mentally - but we're trying :o)
Jon has come close to finishing Charlie's new room minus a few final touches, but we're going to try to move him in this weekend, so we can start pulling out more baby things.

I think they will be here before we know it ;o)

Whirlwind weekend

Shoowee, what a weekend. We spent all of yesterday down at Joe & Kathy's in Deltaville... brother Joe went with Charlie, Jon, Greta & I and we met Betsy down there. We had a great time going out on the boat, stopping at shell island and eating low country boil. The boys went fishing in the afternoon during a thunderstorm... that is typical when Jon and I get together with Joe & Kathy. There is always thunder & lightening!

Back to work & camp today :o)

Kicking away

Seems like I've been feeling movement for quite a while. Yesterday though was the 1st time that Jon felt the baby (s) move. A real kick! :o)

Today's Ultrasound

We went in today for the "big" ultrasound that everyone has at 20 weeks. Things look great with both boys. This is where they measure all anatomy, check for things (like clubbed feet/cleft pallet) and growth with ultrasound.
Twin A is 11 oz and Twin B is 12 oz.
It is always nice to go in and have reassurance that things are on track!
Things are fine w/mom as well, although a little stricter orders from Dr. "Love" to take it easy!

P.S. for those that know, Jon and I had a collision on the beach and I have a huge knot on my forehead. Dr. Tate picked up on it right away (I tried to cover with my bangs) but she said no more surfing!!!!

We are all back to reality today! Jon is working on Charlie's new room, I am back at work and Charlie is at camp.
Went ahead and updated our slideshow for those who are interested. There's only a bazzillion pictures of a really cute kid on a beach! Ha.

Last Beach Day

Who can complain when you're at the beach. Had to get up extra early for our last day. Sun is out and low humidity... we're off to the beach.

Beachin' It

Life at the beach continues to be great... just back from the trek to "The Sanitary" in Morehead City. We've enjoyed lots of good food, bubbles, fishing, crabbing, beach & pool time. All in just 2 1/2 days!

Bittersweet: Moving On

Jon and Wayne decided after much thought that it was the right time to sell their 1800GotJunk franchise. Over the past month, they were fortunate to get to know the Charlottesville/Fredericksburg Franchise Owners who made an offer and after the sale Monday are the new owners of the Richmond territory.

1800GotJunk is what brought Jon and I back "home" to Richmond. It's been a unique opportunity for Jon and everyone involved. I think Jon has had fun over the past 4 yrs 4 months learning the trade of managing your own business, creating a marketing plan and managing the ins and outs of 6-8 guys out on trucks Monday-Saturday. Jon and Wayne have prided themselves on being the "FedEx" of Junk Removal and modeling customer service after businesses such as Ukrop's in Richmond. The 4 Annual Hokies vs Hoos brought in a lot of cash/food to the Central VA Foodback. The past food drive raised $8,490.15 (vs $7,988 last year) and 6,537 food items (vs. 6,264 last year).

There have been a lot of "interesting" stories from different jobs (hoarders to business cleanouts, Charles Steger's sister to Kilgore's campaign headquarters), natural disaster cleanouts (Flooding in Richmond to the recent tornado in Colonial Heights) and of course getting to know the employees over the years. I think all of our family members (Dad, Mom, Linda, Ken, Joe & Tommy) have been out on the trucks or made a run somewhere to help out in the start up days, and we appreciate everyone's help. Cool enough, several employees have been around since almost the beginning - Super Dave and Clayton. Many others have come back for summers or after trying out another job. Of course the other fun part, the stuff that came home off the trucks! I think our whole house is furnished from 1800gotjunk. You name it- it may have come off a truck (hot tub, lawn mowers, couch, toys, vanity, glider, office desk, yada yada yada). The joke has been, "Name your wish and it will come!"

All in all, it's been a great experience and we're looking forward to the next phase, whatever that may be!
