Zone defense

This is the picture that Jon sends me while I am out to dinner Wed. night with a friend. In case you haven't heard us speak of our strategy, it's called "Zone Defense." When you go from a 1:1 ratio to 1:2 or more, you have to move to zone defense. Unfortunately for Jon, zone wasn't working Wednesday as children started to climb furniture... sometimes the teams aren't even :o)

It is so entertaining

Somedays, I find it is so entertaining to listen to the stories from my husband of his ventures out.

Yesterday's trip to COSTCO was just a typical trip to the store, a daily occurrence just about for him, Matt & Will.
Having twins in a cart, every other row he gets a "oh my," a "don't you have your hands full" or a "holy cow." Meanwhile, Matt has fully turned around, facing the opposite direction (all while strapped in) and saying at the top of his lungs DADA DADA."
After awhile, this constant feedback can get old. And maybe a little irritating. Even my husband who is as good-natured as they come gets frustrated with this. If it was me, I think I'd roll my eyes and say something back. We have been looking for good comeback lines, let me know if you have one. Saying that, "well, we have a 3 yr old too, he's at preschool" gets them sometimes...

The trip yesterday ended with 2 tired boys getting rolled through the cashier side of the line at COSTCO (they don't let you roll the cart on the other side of the belt) and some poor clerk trying to entertain Matt and Will with gift cards...

Scaling...

Yes, Scaling (I am not sure if that is how it is spelled?) is our new hobby. Matt & Will have both now figured out how to climb up onto the couches and chairs. It used to be fairly save to walk out of a room, but not I am not so sure.
Jon caught Matt coming down the side of the couch yesterday. Hopefully, they won't try coming down the backs just yet.
This hobby also the side effect of very static-y hair! (L: Will, R: Matt)

Had to laugh...

This afternoon when I went downstairs, Will was joyfully wheeling around with his very loud "popper" in tow. Charlie was just settling into a little downtime, watching Diego on TV. Next thing I hear from the family room, "Will - this needs to go to timeout." The popper then went on the other side of the gate, and quiet restored...

Today is the Start

If you followed my page last year, you know that I participated in the MS Walk in RTP last April. I was inspired by my great friend, Debbie. It was an awesome experience to be a part of this movement, to be a part of the actual walk and to visit with those that are impacted by MS.
Debbie like many, does not know what each day will bring. MS has a certain unknown quantity about it. Symptoms differ for some, day by day. For others, pain and other symptoms are consistent and chronic.

This week, our Team Momentum, is really trying to kick start our efforts. Below is my personal page, along with a video about MS. We will be walking this year on April 24th. Please consider joining our team or supporting our efforts.

The crew goes sledding

Yesterday was an awesome day. The last few storms, Jon and Charlie ventured out with the older boys. Well, this time around we decided to take everyone. It ended up working out well. Matt snoozed a little on the ride over and slept while we there for a bit... Will was ready to get right into the action. It was nice to get out and visit with lots of friends and see the kids play.

Do we look like trouble? No... not at all.

A few more pictures from sledding

I love, love, love this picture of my 2 biggest boys. Is this not pure glee? Fun. Although I really didn't want more snow today, who knows when we will have another series of storms like this in our lifetime!

Thanks to photographer Beth Carlo for the pictures!

Sledding...

Charlie has had a great week sledding. He went out on Sunday and met his friends Holden, Joey & Henry along with the dads. Monday, the guys got together with the Carlo cousins and hit my old stomping grounds at Byrd Middle.

On another note, we all had a full night's sleep last night. Will seems to be feeling a lot better today. Yeah!

another day, another dr visit

Will really seemed to be worse yesterday and had a fever. Last night 102.8 and in the middle of the night he woke up w/103 fever. Took him in this morning and the poor guy was tested him for strep, flu & RSV which all came back negative and his ears were fine. The Dr. said it is probably is what Kidmed said last week with Matt, another virus although maybe not RSV. It should run it's course and to continue to treat with the breathing treatments and tylenol/motrin.

Matt seems a lot better and is getting into everything. Chowed down last night on dinner...

Charlie is back at school today for day 2 this week. Not sure exactly what they did yesterday but some sort of painting with snow that he really enjoyed. He is definitely feeling better and quite busy this week painting at home, helping Jon construct and cooking...
