nana nana nana

Means feed me, feed me, feed me!!!! Matt and Will are both becoming quite the eaters and they want their food when they WANT IT! Last night between every bite, Will thought he needed to vocalize, LOUDLY, that he was STILL HUNGRY! We have even moved out our white freestanding cabinet from the kitchen so we can set up an assembly line for morning breakfasts...

I am thinking that these are meat and potatoes fellows. I don't know that this baby food is going to cut it much longer... I am sure we will move on as quickly as we can, but we're still working on foods and trying things for 3 days at a time to make sure they don't have any food allergies.

We've added chicken, turkey, macaroni (pureed that is), tomato sauce and blueberries to the mix.

We have corn, squash and prunes in the pantry yet to try.

A weekend with cousins

Will - mouth open... not to far from a normal shot...
lots of laughter, noise and eating from this one!

Matt is on the move. Again! He is now trying to get up the stair.

His latest interest is Greta's water bowl. And swimming in it.

Jon and the boys headed to Linda's on Friday to hang out with the Nystrom Cousins. Charlie had a great day playing and enjoying the pool. When I arrived I was amazed to see him jumping in by himself, going to the side of the pool, blowing bubbles and just hanging out. It has been 5 weeks since he started camp which includes swim listens, and you can really see a difference.
The boys all had a great day hanging out!

Charlie & Thor

Sunday, we went to Grandma & Papa Wood's for a visit and to see GG Aunt Betty & Uncle Pat who were in town. The grandkids all had fun and even made it through their photo shoot!

So sad...

Yesterday was Amy, our nanny's, last day. It has been wonderful to have Amy. She is moving on with her boyfriend to OH. As we knew, they had plans to enter new schools for the fall. And we weren't sure of our situation for the long-term.

Amy has been absolutely wonderful with Matt, Will and Charlie (when he's around). She's been very dependable, helpful and it's been great to have the babies at home. Plus she's been fun to have around.

Those items above are all wonderful, but just the beginning. She has also put away dishes, run the dishwasher, washed clothes, put away clothes, played with Greta and vaccuumed.
I know the boys are sad to see her leave. I am too, but for ALL the reasons above :o)

Jon is going to stay home with the babies full-time until the next venture begins. Charlie is in camp now and will continue 5 day preschool in the fall.

So for now, laundry, putting up clothes, are coming back to me. Cutting the grass for Jon goes back to night-time/weekends and the dishes, vaccuuming, etc. I suppose will just happen when there's time!

Big boys

Matt and Will hardly look like babies anymore, do they?
We had a nice night of the 4 of us (+ Greta) while Charlie is off galavanting at his Grandma K's. They were headed to Lewis Ginter Botantical Gardens today. So we took a nice walk yesterday.

Put in a Fork in it

has a whole new meaning to me. When you can't talk, you pretty much fuss until fed. I suppose I truly understood what Put in a Fork in it means when feeding babies today.
Today's new food: Chicken

A special prayer...

This is a request for prayers for a set of twins and their parents that have a long road in front of them.

Dear RAMOM Members, I delivered our twins, Andrew and Makenna via emergency cesarean section on 7/11/09 due to placental abruption. Our babies are 15 weeks early and are in the NICU. Please keep our family in your prayers during this emotional and critical time. If you have suggestions for support groups, it would be much appreciated. (We were initially pregnant with triplets, but lost one of the babies at 18 weeks)
Here are the stats on the babies and a website with pictures and daily updates:

Makenna Grace
DOB: 7/11/09 @ 12:59 AM
12 1/2", 1 lb. 9 oz.

Andrew Tuxworth
DOB: 7/11/09 @ 1:00 AM
12 1/4", 1 lb. 10.7 oz.

More teeth

Jon picked up Matt up over his head this weekend and realized his two top teeth are coming in!
Despite this, he has been in a great mood.

I had a nice night out Friday with girlfriends. Are am I old enough that we're Ladies?Anyhow, went out on the boat down the James and enjoyed socializing. Made a jaunt to Claremont Sat. and spent the day at the River there with the boys.

It is pouring cats and dogs today... thank you Mother Nature for saving until Monday.

The kids of 222

It's hard to believe, between the roommates at 222, we have 8 kids.

L > R: Samantha, Will, Bryson, Matt, Anna, Charlie. Jackson and Isa are missing!

If you can look real close, this is Matt showing off his new tooth, bottom right!

Stony Point Fountain

Our mall right around the corner has a great fountain for the kids to play in... Charlie is much braver this year and had a great time when we went last week.

These days...

Matt and Will are eating:
Peas
Green Beans
Rice Cereal
Oatmeal Ceral
Carrotts
Sweet Potatoes
Bananas
Applesauce
Pears

And today, strawberries.

Of course this is all at pureed consistency, but they are now loving eating twice a day. It took us a while to get to this point. We need to figure out our next steps, whether we drop a bottle, add another feeding, etc!

Updates

We are back from a little trip to NC. We all went down Friday morning. Jon dropped me at my office and spent the day with GG Aunt Betty and GG Uncle Pat. They all had a great day and then we went to Mexican for dinner.
My college roommate, Debbie, had invited us along with my other roommate, Jen, down for the weekend. Although we enjoy our girl weekends, it was nice to spend the weekend with the guys and kids as well. Though 8 kids, 6 adults, we were a little out numbered!
We also made a lunch stop by our Raleigh next door neighbors, Kristen and Kenyon and met their little girl Sydney. It was all lots of fun and reminded us of our years in Raleigh. It is hard to believe, it's been 5 years since we left, 11 years since we moved there.

Other updates:
Charlie is loving summer camp. He is still a little hard to get out the door in the morning, but once he is in his classroom, he is pushing us out the door. He is ready to play.

Matt is crawling all over the place. He is everywhere. We are really in the mode of what's too small for the babies? Hide it.

Will is content as sitting bull. He has also gotten his 1st tooth. Opposite of Matt, he has left front bottom tooth.

Lazy 4th

We had a great LONG weekend here. I think it felt longer because we didn't go anywhere. Spent Friday and Saturday at the neighborhood pool. It is so nice to have the pool right down the street. There are 2 baby pools and lots of shade which is great. It's also nice to be out and socialize!

We celebrated Jon's 35th birthday Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. All in all with cooperation from the kids minus a few blow ups ;o)

Sunday was a rainy day, perfect in my mind. No need to come up with a project plan to get out the door... it can be quite exhausting to lather up 3 kids, pack swim diapers, regular diapers, change of clothes, beach towels, snacks, bottles, pool toys, sunglasses, swim jacket, etc.
