Colonial Downs

Charlie rode a pony at Colonial Downs this past Sat. and enjoyed the bouncy tent. We went for family day sponsored by 1 of Jon's vendors. All in all, a great time although very hot!

Jon and I also celebrated our 9 yr. anniversary (6/26) and went out to dinner and then to hear Tyler Carlo's band Sajak. Thanks to babysitter's Grandma and Papa Wood.

Hard to believe that it has been 9 yrs since we were married, but then again, a lot sure has happened....

Happy 8th Birthday Greta!

Charlie seems to have had a really great week at the JCC. The mornings are a little rough, but he seems to have fun every day. Good news - he is officially into the Fall Program (after being on the waiting list).

Barred Owl

According to the other Bird nut, mom, she thinks it is a Barred Owl.

Great Horned Owl?

Well working from home does have some advantages! Jon is here today b/c we are having FIOS installed. He saw a Great Horned Owl(?) fly across our backyard and land on our larger bird feeder. Then he hung out for a while and we were able to get w/in 15 ft. So cool!

We will confirm with my brother Joe, the Biology Grad Student.

2 Boys!

We had our 17 week appt. today and found out we are having 2 boys. Holy Cow!
So we will have our own football team with Charlie. OR hockey team OR little league team... I think we will likely have to start growing our own food to feed all these boys!

Charlie will be thrilled to have 2 brothers!

It is a completely different experience to know and so different to know this early.
We were very happy though to learn that everything is on track at this point and everyone including mom is very healthy. Boys at this point weigh 6 0z each. According to babycenter about the size of a turnip. It is amazing that medicine knows so much when they are still so small.

The next ultrasound in late July will be a much more extensive fetal scan where every detail is measured, etc.

1st Day at Camp

Charlie survived his 1st day of camp (and so did his mother)!
It was a little chaotic at drop off, 25? kids in a big room with 4 or so counselors? Charlie was holding on tight, but went with 1 of the counselors...

When I picked Charlie up this afternoon, a teacher, from another class came over and said she heard all about Charlie and what a sweetheart he was (I'm sure they say that to every parent) but reassuring nonetheless. He was playing in the sandbox when I arrived and it took me a few minutes to coerce him out of there after talking to his teachers...

His morning camp teacher said he did great, got wet during water play and followed directions. His 2 afternoon childcare teachers were very sweet and said he was great as well, took his nap and everything. All said, he didn't say a peep. They were relieved when he saw Elmo on someones diaper and said Elmo and then they had his favorite for snack - pizza which he also said. Guess that won him over.

All in all, a great day!

Camp!

Jon, Charlie & I attended the open house last night at the JCC. This will be a whole new experience when he starts Monday. He will go from "childcare" to Camp, 9-12, then childcare.
He was excited to get out on the playground and play in the Pirate Ship sandbox.
I was excited to learn that one of the girl's moms in his class is a girl I graduated H.S. with...

All the while, we will be packing his lunch. Since this program is run by the Jewish Comm. Ctr., no meat is allowed (unless kosher). So let me know if you think of anything great besides PB &J!

Parents of 3?

Just back from our 1st beach vacation this summer and now in planning mode to prepare for the twins arrival. Believe it or not, the doctor said to have everything in place by 20 weeks so it would be R&R (ha, yeah right!) the rest of the journey. That is July 16th!!!
Thought I'd try out blogging and google for picture sharing.
